Sennacherib, king of Assyria, invades Judah. Hezekiah strengthens the people and encourages them to trust God. The Assyrian officials mock God, but Hezekiah and Isaiah pray. God sends an angel who destroys the Assyrian army, and Sennacherib returns home in defeat. Later, Hezekiah becomes ill; God heals him after his prayer. However, he grows proud, and God tests him. Even so, Hezekiah’s reign ends with honor.
Christ-Foreshadowing: God’s deliverance from Assyria foreshadows Christ’s victory over all spiritual enemies—salvation by divine power, not human strength.
