2 Chronicles 24

Joash begins well, repairing the temple and restoring worship under Jehoiada’s guidance. But after Jehoiada dies, Joash listens to corrupt advisers, abandons the Lord, and kills Jehoiada’s son Zechariah, who rebukes him. Judgment follows: foreign armies invade, Joash is wounded, and his own officials assassinate him. The chapter warns how leadership can fall without godly counsel.

Christ-Foreshadowing: Zechariah’s martyrdom anticipates Christ, the righteous One rejected and killed by those He came to call back to God.
