Solomon begins his reign with strength and seeks the Lord at Gibeon, where the tabernacle still stands. God appears to him in a dream and invites him to ask for anything. Solomon humbly requests wisdom to govern the people, and God grants him wisdom along with wealth and honor. Solomon establishes military and economic strength, and Israel enters a time of great prosperity.
Christ-Foreshadowing: Solomon’s God-given wisdom points to Christ, the greater King whose perfect wisdom governs His people with righteousness.
