In days when God’s word was rare, the Lord called to young Samuel at night. After Eli realized what was happening, Samuel responded, “Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening,” and God revealed His coming judgment on Eli’s house for their unrestrained sin. Samuel faithfully delivered the message, marking his prophetic calling. From that time forward, the Lord was with Samuel, and all Israel recognized him as a true prophet whose words carried divine authority. This chapter marks the turning point from spiritual silence to renewed revelation through God’s chosen servant.
Foreshadowing of Christ:
Samuel hearing and speaking God’s word faithfully points to Jesus, the perfect Prophet who would reveal the fullness of God’s truth with complete obedience.
