David attempts to bring the ark to Jerusalem, but because the Levites do not carry it properly, Uzzah touches the ark and dies. David becomes afraid and leaves the ark at Obed-Edom’s house, where God blesses him. This teaches the holiness of God and the necessity of worship according to His instructions.
Christ-Foreshadowing: The ark’s holiness foreshadows Christ’s purity—only through Him can we approach God without fear.
